Linda D. Bond, 64, of Gettysburg, Pa., formerly of Carroll County, died Friday morning, March 28, 2014, at Mount Joy Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy.

Born Jan. 20, 1950, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late George and Maude Halter Bowen.

She was a 1968 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School and was a Westminster beauty school graduate. She was a beautician until her children were born, was manager of "the flower shop" in Taneytown and later worked in the cafeteria at Northwest Middle School in Taneytown.

She was a member of St. Mary's United Church of Christ in Silver Run and was a Francis Scott Key Band Booster. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, feeding birds and gardening; and was known to be a great cook.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Tammy Lawyer and Donald Lawyer Jr., of Hanover, Pa., and Heidy Rubin and Alan Rubin, of Maroochydore, Queensland, Australia; a son, Christopher Bond, of Rock Hill, S.C.; and grandchildren Layla Staten, Adelta Lawyer and Willow Bond.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until the time of the memorial service, 7 p.m. Thursday at Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, Pa., with her daughter, Tammy Lawyer, officiating. Private inurnment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery in Silver Run.
