Linda Lou Thomas age, 56, of Sykesville Linda Lou Thomas, age 56, of Sykesville, died Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster. Born February 15, 1958, in Hanover, PA she was the daughter of the late Paul Leister and Ruth Gorsuch Leister. She was the wife of Mike Thomas of Sykesville. Linda had been a child care provider for the last 20 years and had many "adopted" children. She had worked previously for Black & Decker, Congoleum, Random House and McGregor Printing where she had met her husband.. She liked to crochet, read, make crafts and go to yard sales. She was an avid football fan. She also enjoyed trips to Thomasville, PA and in earlier years she liked to street race. Linda was a member of the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department Auxiliary. Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband are son; Clifford M. Thomas of Sykesville; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle L. and Mike Cormany of Sykesville; granddaughter, Claire Cormany of Sykesville; brothers, Donald and David Leister and sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Jim Starliper, Mary Miller, Hazel and Herb Lowe and Paula Buck Shiloh and Kevin Shiloh. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM.
