Lisa Weinberg Bowden, 52, of Assawoman, Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Born June 10, 1961, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Louise and James Weishaar. She was the wife of Thomas Lee Bowden, her husband of 21 years.

She enjoyed going out on the boat and relaxing on little beaches; and spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Maria Weinberg and husband Clifton Downing, of Bloxom, Va., Joey Weinberg Jr. and wife Shawana, of Wattsville, Va., and Sheana Bowden, of Chincoteague Island, Va.; grandchildren Liona Taylor and Summer Weinberg, both of Wattsville, and Briana Downing, of Bloxom; brothers Chuck Weishaar and wife Carol, of Hampstead, and Jim Weishaar and wife Bonnie, of Finksburg; sister Roxanne Gilchrist and husband Bruce, of Mims, Fla.; a mother-in-law, Ellen Richardson, of Chincoteague Island; brother-in-law, Kerry Bowden and wife Fara, of Assawoman; a sister-in-law, Sue Bowden, of Chincoteague Island; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers Larry, Bob and Doug Weishaar.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church in Chincoteague Island, with the Rev. Kevin Eley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 691, Chincoteague Island, VA 23336; or SPCA, P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418.
