Lois C. Armacost, 83, of Upperco, died on Sunday August 24, 2014 at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. Born September 3, 1930 in Hyattstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Mehrle E. Staley, Sr. and Dora (Lawson) Staley. She was the wife of the late Elwood F. Armacost who died in 2002. She was a graduate of Damascus High School and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Upperco. She served on numerous committees at her church, played the church organ and served as choir director. Lois loved music, reading, painting, sewing, crafting, traveling, and working in her flower gardens. She was talented in all areas of the culinary arts, and served as a judge in numerous county fairs. Surviving are sons, Michael F. Armacost and wife Helen of Upperco, Jeffrey F. Armacost and wife Cynthia of Upperco, Steven M. Armacost and wife Deborah of Manchester; brothers, Mehrle E. Staley, Jr. of Gaithersburg, amd Thomas M. Staley and wife Janice of Gaithersburg; grandsons, Michael T. Armacost and wife Beth, Jonathan Armacost and wife Caroline, and Ryan Armacost; granddaughters, Katie Harris and husband Ronnie, Kinsey Gill and husband Eric, and Carrie Armacost; step grandsons, Michael Kemp and wife Crystal, and Ryan Kemp; great-grandsons, Jackson Armacost, Cooper Armacost, Oliver Harris, Samuel Armacost; great-granddaughters, Cora Harris, Juliana Armacost and Ellison Gill; step great-grandsons, Hunter Kemp and Tanner Kemp. She was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Hazel Staley. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Upperco with Pastor Michael C. Adams officiating. Friends may visit at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Arcadia. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 15801 Trenton Road, Upperco, MD 21155.
