Lorraine Beverly Bowie, age 63, of New Windsor, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at Carroll Hospice Dove House, Westminster. Born November 30, 1952 in Woodlawn, she was the daughter of the late Wallace M. and Frieda Anna Huebner Doxzon. She was the wife of William E. Bowie, her husband of 25 years. Lorraine was a 1970 graduate of Woodlawn Senior High School. She worked in retail sales for most of her life. She was a certified pharmaceutical technician at Walmart in Westminster for a number of years and also managed the jewelry department for two years, having recently retired in August, 2016. She was a home caregiver for her father-in-law and mother for three years. Lorraine was a member of Frederick Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening, cooking, interior decorating, her home and giving of herself to her community. In addition to her loving husband Bill, she is survived by a daughter, Brittney Hawkins and husband Timothy; brothers, Skip and Mindy Doxzon and Roy and Anna Doxzon, all of Jacksonville, FL and Charles Doxzon and significant other, Wanda Hamm of Hampstead; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22 at Frederick Church of Christ, 1305 N. Market St., Frederick, MD 21701, followed by a time of food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to The Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
