Lorraine Estelle Eichelberger, 91, of Upperco, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born Oct. 15, 1921, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late James and Hattie Walker Ahlbin. She was the wife of Ellwood "Buddy" Eichelberger, her husband of 59 1/2 years.

She was a former warrant officer with her husband and family in the Civil Air Patrol. At age 13, she played the guitar in the United Artists Symphonic Orchestra. For 25 years, she and her husband ran an arts and crafts business in Hampstead. She provided foster care and day care for many children over the years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons Joe Eichelberger and wife Hope, of South Carolina, and Larry J. Eichelberger and wife Cathy, of Spring Grove, Pa.; daughters Sandra Lee Resch and husband Bucky, of Elkridge, Sharon Lynn Beares and husband Glenn, of Baltimore, and Debbie Estelle Webb, of Upperco; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Melvina Stricklin officiating. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery in Ellicott City.
