Louis Henry Szeliga, age 88 of Woodstock, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia. Born January 3, 1929 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late George and Marie Bialek Szeliga. He was the husband of Elizabeth M. Szeliga of Woodstock. He was predeceased by his first wife, Clara Szeliga. He had served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He had been a construction supervisor for many years. Surviving in addition to his wife are son Louis H. Szeliga, stepchildren Joan Dowgiallo, stepson Leroy Schuerholz, Kathy Rhoten, Amanda Haugh, and Elizabeth Elmore, sisters Marie Celler, Eleanor Novak, Theresa Diggins, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Stanley Szeliga, and by his sister Barbara Weaving. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Rodriguez Catholic Church, 10800 Old Court Rd., Woodstock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
