Lucille B.W. "Lou" Remsburg, 94, of Taneytown, died Friday, July 6, 2012, at Emeritus in Westminster.

Born April 18, 1918, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Mervin E. and Jessie Brown Wantz. She was the wife of Singleton E. Remsburg, who died in 1994.

She was a graduate of Taneytown High School and attended beauty school in Baltimore. She was the owner and operator of Remsburg Beauty Shop.

She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Taneytown, where she was a former member of the consistory. She was a former member of the Taneytown Republican Club.

She enjoyed playing bridge with three local clubs, raising African violets, supplying the Gift Shop of Carroll County General Hospital for many years, vegetable and flower gardening and watching birds.

Surviving are daughters Sandra E. Crouse, of Taneytown, and Carol J. Parker of Sardis, Tenn.; grandchildren Michael Crouse and wife Kathleen, David Crouse and wife Michele, Sherrie Wagner, Karen Julch and husband Aaron; great-grandchildren Samantha, Joshua, Amber, Kelsey, Kyle, Justin, Tyler and Meghan.

She was predeceased by son-in-law George B. Crouse.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the church.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Church of Christ, 49 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with the Rev. Steven Ostendorf-Snell, officiating. Interment will be in the church's cemetery.
