MacKenzie Eileen Schaufele, 1, of Mount Airy, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born May 10, 2013, in Westminster, she was the daughter of Jacqueline N. Schaufele and Bruce Barnes.

She was known for her energetic, independent and free spirited personality, her smile, and was full of life. She was a "daddy's girl."

Surviving are a great-grandmother, Shirley Smith; an aunt, Stephanie Schaufele; uncles Lonnie and Derek Benjamin, and Ryan and John Schaufele; grandparents Michelle and Bruce Barnes, and Henry Schaufele; godparents John Naill and Kelly Ruh; and numerous great-aunts and great-uncles, cousins, friends and family.

She was predeceased by a grandmother, Marilyn Schaufele.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Mount Airy Full Gospel, 13949 Penn Shop Road, Mount Airy. Interment will be in Locust Grove Church of the Brethren.
