Margaret E. "Margie" Browning, 53, of Winfield, died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born July 6, 1960, she was the daughter of Walter and Joyce Browning, of Biglerville, Pa.

She enjoyed gardening, bluegrass music, fishing and  cooking. She was actively involved in the Winfield Community for many years. She was an organ donor and was able to give the gift of sight.

Surviving are a son, John H. German, of Winfield; a daughter, Catey German, of Winfield; life partner Michael Puckett, of New Windsor; sisters Beverly Goering, of Clarksville, Melba Phipps, of Columbia, Mary Ogle, of Clear Spring, and Terry Davidson, of Sykesville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Kirkham Browning Jr.; and a sister, Melissa Browning.

The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service, 2 p.m. Saturday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Margaret Browning Memorial Fund, c/o Catherine German, P.O. Box 1541, Sykesville, MD 21784.
