Margaret Mary Horn, 72, of Mount Airy, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born April 20, 1940, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Frank Sr. and Marie Mealey Eff. She was the wife of Byron L. Horn Jr., her husband of 49 years.

She was formerly employed, for 27 years, with Kmart in Eldersburg. She enjoyed going to the beach, reading, watching the "Price is Right," cooking and baking, and the Orioles and Ravens. She was proud of her Irish heritage.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter Cindy Horn and companion Geoff Barker, of Frederick; sons Byron J. Horn and companion Gigi Giles, of Frederick and Brian P. Horn, of Elkridge; a grandson, Connor Philip Horn; sisters, Marie Klingelhofer and husband Ed, of Westminster and Gloria Anderson and husband Ed, of Mount Airy; and brothers Frank Eff Jr., of Pikesville, Joe Eff and wife Rose, of Timonium, and Michael Eff, of Dundalk.

She was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Peggy Eff.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Christopher Litton, pastor of Chapel Lutheran Church in Libertytown, officiating. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family at Lakeview Memorial Park in Eldersburg.
