Margaret Pauline Lang, 88, of Hampstead, passed away on January 3, 2015 at her home. Born November 23, 1926 in Finksburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Harris Swan. She was the wife of John M. Lang. Margaret worked at Black and Decker in Hampstead for 26 years. She was a devoted member of the Crosswind Church in Westminster. She had been a long time member of Ladies Auxiliary of the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Department, where she held and enjoyed the position as Chaplain for 16 years. She is now remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Margaret was a great friend and a compassionate person who loved God, her family, and brightened the lives of many with her kind words and beautiful smile. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her son, David Alan Warren and wife Nelly of Hampstead; brother Harry Swan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Swan; daughter-in-law, Gracie Hill; grandchildren, Deana Mathews and husband Sam, Ronald Hill, Jr. and wife Mary, Cherie Hill-Stultz-Weigman and husband Glenn, Richard Hill and wife Joyce, Dena Warren and fiancé William, Alicia Patton and husband Lucas; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Ronald Hill, Sr., brothers Norman Swan and Melvin Swan and sister-in-law, Madeline Swan. The family will receive friends Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor David Sulcer officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carroll Hospice, Inc., 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157 or the Ladies Auxiliary of Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 231, Hampstead, MD 21074.
