Marie Elizabeth Brown (Magrogan), 87, of Baltimore, formerly of Olney, Delaware, and Florida, died on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Lorien Assisted Living Facility in Taneytown, Maryland. Marie was the eldest daughter of the late Charles H. and Marie M. (Rommel) Magrogan. On October 2, 1948, she had the great good fortune of being united in marriage to her life partner, the late Elmer J. Brown, Jr., who departed this life in 1995. While many mothers boast distinguished professional accomplishments, Marie's profession and greatest accomplishment was her family. She is survived by 5 of her 7 children Pat Yeager (Larry), Lori Kelly (Gene), Gary Brown (Cecilia), Mike Brown (Linda), Jane Delmar (David); daughter-in-law Janice Brown. Her children joyfully blessed her with 12 grandchildren: John and David Sotiros, Tim and Christy Yeager, Jeff, Craig, and Stephanie Brown, Jennifer and Justin Brown, Jackie, Tony and Christopher Delmar. Marie's grandchildren further enriched her life with the gift of 13 great grandchildren who fondly called her "GeeGee": Alyssa, Alex, Avery, Emerson, Ben, Brooks, Luke, Meghan, Natalie, Jaxon, Ava, Caleb, and Finnegan; a sister Bonnie Baker; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family- too numerous to list, but not forgotten. Marie is now reunited with her loving husband, Elmer "Joe" Brown, and will once again laugh with her departed daughter, Carol Christine, as well as her son, Charles Joseph. She was also predeceased by sister Charlotte Byrne. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13th at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery, in Marriottsville, MD. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Carroll Hospice staff as well as the numerous staff members at Lorien Taneytown Assisted Living Center and Carroll Hospital Center for their tender and thoughtful care of our mother in her final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157. Online condolences may be left to the family on Marie's tribute page at
