Marjorie A. C. "Margie" Brightful, 71, of Westminster, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at home.

Born Dec. 21, 1941, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Major Washington Cook and Catherine Corrine Morse Cook Allen. She was the wife of Robert E. Brightful Sr., whom she married Aug. 9, 1966.

She attended Robert Moton School. She worked as a supervisor at Springfield Hospital Center. She was a member of Crosswind Church in Westminster. She enjoyed attending church, Tuesday Prayer Group and spending quality time with family and friends.

Surviving are children Vernon Cook and wife Cynthia, of Clarksville, Sonjia DuVall and husband Michael, of Westminster, Robert Brightful Jr. and wife Tammy, of Westminster, Jacqueline Bennett and husband Arnel, of Taneytown, and April Brightful and fiance Alvin Dove, of Westminster; brothers and sisters Thomas and Benjamin Cook, of Sykesville, Paula Cook and Tony Weedon, of Laurel, Roselle Dorsey, of Union Bridge, Dolores Anderson Blackman, of Delaware, Darlene Blackman and Douglas Cook, of Richmond, Va., and Cynthia Cook and Nathaniel Allen, of Westminster; stepbrothers and stepsisters Sheila McDaniel, of Mission Viejo, Calif., Edna Roper, of Westminster, Nicholas Allen Jr., of New Windsor, and Maria Allen, of Randallstown; grandchildren Carisa Cook, Danica Giles, Allen Cook, Tiara Brightful, Ian Giles, David Cunningham, Janai Giles, Keith Brightful, Adrianna Cook, Gabriella Cook and Kile Brightful; great-grandchildren Christian Dennis, Akeira Giles, Leila Cook, Torrin Giles and Karsen Dennis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by brothers James Cook and Major Cook.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Crosswind Church, 640 Lucabaugh Mill Road, Westminster, with her pastor, the Rev. David Sulcer, officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Eternal Hope Cemetery.
