Mark Alan Martin, age 53, of Westminster, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at University of Maryland Hospital Center. Born in Birmingham, AL he was the son of Arthur J. Martin, Sr. of Eldersburg and the late Peggy J. McLelland Martin. He was the loving husband of Barbara Ann Wehland Martin. Mark had worked for the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mark's favorite activity was watching his 2 sons play baseball. He was an avid baseball fan and grew up playing the sport himself. He was a huge Alabama fan...Roll Tide!!! He was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Westminster. Surviving in addition to his wife and father are sons, Brian A. Martin and Wesley R. Martin; brothers, Michael Martin of Eldersburg and David Martin of Cape Cod; mother-in-law, Beverly Ann Smarik of Westminster and step-mother, Ann Neathery-Martin of Eldersburg. He is also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Paul Martin and Arthur John Martin, Jr. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral liturgy will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016, at 10am at St. John Roman Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park.
