Marlene W. Neiswender, 82, of Sykesville, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Born Dec. 10, 1930, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Katherine Louise Blizzard Wellmann. She was the wife of Elwood A. Neiswender.

She had been a secretary many years ago in addition to being a homemaker. She had volunteered for the American Red Cross and had chaired the high school drives for Howard County for many years.

She enjoyed dancing and spending time at the ocean.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons Mark E. Neiswender, of Cumberland, Keith T. Neiswender, of Columbia and Bruce A. Neiswender, of Chevy Chase; a daughter, Linda K. DiGeorge, of Lutherville; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Brown and the Rev. Wayne Larson officiating. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville.
