Marlin C. Six, 78, of Taneytown, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born March 9, 1936, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Marlin R. and Helen M. Deberry Six. He was the husband of Barbara A. Koontz Six, his wife of 60 years.

He retired in 1994 from 3M National Advertising in Westminster, after 34 years of service.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the volunteer fire company, and men's auxiliary VFW Post No. 6918, all of Harney; Fairfield, Pa., AmVets Post No. 172 and Gettysburg, Pa., FOE Aerie No. 1562.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Brett E. Six and wife Susan, of Taneytown, and Barry L. Six and wife Matea, of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters Belinda K. Cole and husband John, of Taneytown, and Bobbi Jo Shuey and husband Doug, of Orrtanna, Pa; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Larry E. Six, of Littlestown, Pa.; and a sister, Audrey V. Hess, of Taneytown.

He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Betty Jo Six; and a brother, George A. Six.

Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Little's Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Matthew Day officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Gettysburg.
