Martha Chastain, 92, of Westminster, who was known to be a whitty and charming lady, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born on September 29, 1922 in Patapsco, she was the daughter of the late Justus Wilson and Katherine Hoffman Tracey. She was the loving wife of the late Hugh Chastain. Martha was a nurse and retired from Springfield Hospital Center after 26 years of employment. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Taneytown. This caring and loving woman, who cherished time with her family, is survived by daughters Patricia A. Stem and husband Philip of Lexington, AL, Gale S. Daigle and husband Ted of Taneytown, and Joan Marie Reever; siblings, Ben Tracey of Bilgerville, PA, John Tracey of Gettysburg, PA, Dell Schollian of Westminster, Teresa Regester of Baltimore, and Junes Jones of Portland, TX; grandchildren and spouses Marvin and Jayna Stem, Patricia and Steve Stephens, Tracy and David Stevens, Ted and Lisa Daigle III, Brandi and Matthew Ziglar; great-grandchildren Jonathan and Jenna Stem, Joel and Nicci Stephens, Ashley and Kaitlynn Stevens, Sophia and Teddy IV Daigle, and William and Ivy Ziglar; great great-granddaughters Paige, Riley and Elena . She was predeceased by siblings Howard Tracey, James Franklin Tracey, Marie Rose Becker, and Mary King; and great-granddaughter Isabel Rose Ziglar. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at PRITTS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD 21787, with Father John Lesnick as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in her name to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
