Martha Juanita Troxell, 93, of Sun City, Calif., formerly of Westminster, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at home.

Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Antonia L. Barrenbrugge and Thomas L. Smith. She was the wife of the late Richard H. Troxell, her husband of 63 years.

She attended early schooling in Baltimore and finished high school at Westminster High School.

She had worked in Westminster at Harry's Lunch, The City Restaurant, and the Candy Box. She was named Outstanding Woman of Westminster for her charitable works in her neighborhood.

She moved to California in the late 1980's to be with her daughter. She constantly made articles by knitting, crocheting, and needlework for her children, relatives and many friends. She also enjoyed reading and going to restaurants with family.

Surviving are sons Thomas H. Troxell and wife Mary Jo, of Palm Coast, Fla., and Richard K. Troxell and wife Lupe, Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters Diane Costello, of Yuma, Ariz.; and Linda Troxell Blubaugh and partner Julie, of Sun City; sisters and brothers-in-law Zadie and Charles Brehm, of Westminster, Patricia and Carl Vertrees, of Louisville, Ky., and Cecil Berryman, of Beaufort, S.C.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by sisters Alice Smith Smith, Dorothy Dulaney Leonard, Dolores Smith Berryman, and Joan Smith Mathis.

A funeral service was held Friday in San Bernardino, Calif. Interment, alongside her husband, was in Mount View Cemetery.
