Martha Jane Anglum Wisner, 88, of Upperco, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013.

Born Jan. 16, 1925, in Ashgrove, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Owen Wood Anglum and Rachel Elizabeth Anglum. She was the wife of W. Ralph Wisner, whom she married July 13, 1946.

She graduated Ashgrove High School in Ashgrove and attended Drury College in Springfield, Mo.

In 1944, she joined the Army Air Corps. She was assigned to Castle Field Army Air Base in Merced, Calif., then to Fort Myer, near Washington, D.C., working at the Pentagon recording World War II history. Her last assignment before she mustered out in 1946 was at Fort Dix, N.J.

She and her husband met Christmas Eve 1945 at Castle Field Army Air Base. She was known to be a supportive wife, and was a homemaker, mother of three, sports mom, gardener, bridge partner, golfer and world traveler.

She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church congregation and Ladies Aid; charter member and past-president of the Hampstead American Legion Auxiliary Unit 200; member and past-president of the Hampstead Lions Club Lioness; and a member of Piney Branch Golf Club since 1972.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Nancy Robertson, W. Ralph Wisner Jr., and David Wisner; grandchildren Kati Grow, Rebecca Rumsey, Doug Wisner, Krista Wisner, Kelly Wisner and Lizzie Wisner; 10 great-grandchildren; and nephews John and Owen.

She was predeceased by a brother, Owen Anglum Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Anglum.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and Friday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 3800 Black Rock Road, Upperco. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 3800 Black Rock Road, Upperco, MD 21155.
