Martha S. Parks, 77, a lifelong resident of Carroll County, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born September 27, 1939 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Pauline Amy Nace and Vernon Albert Slorp. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Stanley G. Parks III. Martha was a member of the first graduating class of North Carroll High School in 1957. After finishing high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Stanley G. Parks III in 1959. Over her lifetime, Martha cared for sick animals, rescued many cats, and took in a stray cat born under her porch which she named Lucky after her favorite soap opera character. She was loved by everyone she met. It was impossible not to smile in her presence. Her love was unconditional and present in her every action. Besides her husband, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Amy Parks Tracey and husband Tom Tracey and Brenda Parks Middleton and husband John W. Middleton, M.D.; a sister Faye Decker of Westminster; grandchildren Alice Middleton and husband Matthew, John Middleton, Erin Middleton and husband Clarence "Tripp", Emily Middleton, Sarah Middleton, and Nicholas Middleton; and 3 great-grandchildren James, Josie, and Kade.
