Martin Charles Prince, Jr., age 91, of Sykesville, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016. Born September 4, 1924, in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Martin C. Prince, Sr. and Mildred Amelia Miller Prince. He was the husband of the late Jane R. Prince who died in 2003. Martin had served in the Army Air Corps. during WWII. He had been a wood worker for most of his life and had owned and operated PRIWING wooden boat manufacturing. He had retired as an industrial photographer from Westinghouse Corporation in the mid 1980's. Martin had served as a scout master for Troop #716 that met at St. Paul's United Methodist Church from 1959-74. He was a member of Freedom Lodge #112, A.F.&A.M and Sykesville American Legion Post #223. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan and Nancy Prince of Marriottsville and Wesley and Patti Prince of Sykesville; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Hugh Diggins of VT; brother, Kenneth W. Prince of Seven Valleys, PA; sister, Gloria A. Prince Beall of Severn and grandchildren, Bryan L. Prince, Lindsey E. Hamilton, Alex W. Prince, Caitlin M. Prince, William Diggins, Hugh R. Diggins, Jr. and Karrie Diggins. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Tuesday at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10am with Rev. John Bragg officiating. Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery, Sykesville.
