Martin S. Epp, 79, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at home.

Born July 12, 1933, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Alfred M. and Barbara E. Ihle Epp. He was the husband of Joan V. Campbell Epp, who died June 26, 2011, his wife of 53 years.

He was a retired electrical engineer from the Baltimore Gas & Electric Company, where he had worked from 1952 until 1994. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He had served in the United States Air Force from 1953 until 1957.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Randallstown. He enjoyed fishing, building model airplanes and train gardens.

Surviving are a son, Matthew J. Epp, of Ashburn, Va.; daughters and sons-in-law June M. Epp and Bret Howard, of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Teresa M. Epp and Michael Bruciak, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and sister Elizabeth Epp-Shifflett, of Westminster.

He was predeceased by siblings, twin infant, Joseph Epp, Alfred T. Epp, Miriam Epp-Nash, Lucille Epp-Wood and Barbara Epp.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral liturgy will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Old Holy Family Catholic Church, 10636 Liberty Road, Randallstown. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
