Mary Ann Crawmer, 102, of Westminster, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born April 2, 1911, in Fairport, Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward Franklin and Arintha McNamara Marsh. She was the wife of George Edward Crawmer, who died in 1993.

She was raised on Smith Island, went to school in Crisfield and graduated with the Class of 1929. She was a graduate of Towson Normal (now Towson University) with a degree in teaching. She retired from the Carroll County Public Schools after 42 years of service, having taught at both Elmer Wolfe and East End elementary schools.

She was a member of St. Mary's United Church of Christ in Silver Run, a member of the Maryland Retired School Personnel Association and Carroll County Retired School Personnel Association, Order of the Eastern Star, and of the Door to Virtue Lodge No. 94.

She was an avid bridge player and an avid Orioles fan. She enjoyed watching her great-grandsons in sporting events and musical theater.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Jayne and James Stocksdale, of Westminster; grandson and wife Jeffery G. and Brenda Lea Stocksdale, of Westminster; great-grandsons Jordan Brady and Jacob Brody Stocksdale; a niece, Christine Selby; nephews Jack and Craig Crawmer; and great-nephews David and Michael Crawmer.

The family will receive friends form 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, where the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at the funeral home, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Richard Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
