Mary A. Schaffer, 96, of Manchester, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at her daughter's home in Westminster.

Born Feb. 14, 1917, in Jefferson, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry Rudisill and Jennie Wildasin Miller.

After retiring from Black & Decker, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, quilting and making "shoofly" pies. She was a longtime and active member of the "Willing Workers" of the Trinity United Church of Christ.

Surviving are children Evelyn Bull, of Glen Burnie, Ray Schaffer, of Dundalk, Mary Ann Spangler, of Westminster, and Jean Siebertz, of Laughlin, Nev.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by siblings Annie Eppley, Pauline Miller, and Andrew, Kenneth, Solomon, Woodrow, Leon and Albert Miller; and grandchildren Ray Eugene Schaffer and Patricia Bull.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in New Lutheran Cemetery in Manchester.
