Mary Zula "Mom" Barrett, 76, of Westminster, died Sunday, August 10, 2014, at her residence. Born December 15, 1937 in Hanover, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Allen E. and Helen M. Becker. She is survived by her husband, Paul N. Barrett. Before retiring, she owned and operated Barrett's Chicken Farm in Pleasant Valley before working at Carroll Hospital Center. She loved to fish, crab and camp, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was in foster care for a number of years, providing a loving home for over 100 children. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Jeff Shaffer, Helen Barrett-Abrams and Dale Abrams and Robin Barrett, sons and daughter-in-law Paul and Debbie Barrett and Timothy Barrett, brothers Richard and Raymond Becker and sisters Henrietta Esworthy and Peggy Hoff. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was predeceased by sisters Marie, Lelah, Jackie and Margie, brothers Robert, John and Allen Becker, a grandson Timmy Barrett and granddaughter Makayla Barrett. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at www.FLETCHERFUNERALHOME.net.
