Mary Ellen Farver, 88, of Gettysburg, Pa., died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Gettysburg, after an extended illness.

Born April 1, 1924, in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Bennie and Pearl Simmons Delawder. She was the wife of Leroy A. Farver, who died in 1991.

She worked at Westminster Shoe Factory and Pleasant Valley. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in New Windsor.

Surviving are daughter Barbara Jean Parrish and husband Ralph Sr., of Littlestown, Pa.; a son, William "Doc" Reese Jr., of Westminster; a sister, Caroline Haines, of Taneytown; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a friend, Suellen Lee.

She was predeceased by sisters Elizabeth Flannery and Phyllis Bright; and brothers Owen and Richard Delawder.

The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Monday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with John Morrill, Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment will be in Taylorsville United Methodist Cemetery.
