Mary Elva Moore, 56, of Taylorsville, died Wednesday morning July 4, 2012, at home.

Born April 20, 1956, in Taylorsville, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Kathleen Ward. She was the wife of Larry Allen Moore.

She was retired from Springfield State Hospital after 38 years of service.

She enjoyed being outside in her flower beds and tending to her ponds. She enjoyed yard sales, going to Charlestown and her outside wildlife.

She especially enjoyed helping others in any way she could.

Surviving are daughter Mary Jo Ward and husband Robert Ridgely; stepchildren Jeffrey Moore, and Lisa Moore and fiance David Moynihan; grandchildren Destiny, Samantha and Joseph, Kimberly Moore and fiance Elliot Sterner, and Christopher and Emily; a brother, Theodore Ward; nieces Ashley and Brittany Ward; a great-niece, Madison; and nephews JR Toms and TR Harris.

She was predeceased by sisters Bonnie Harris and Doris Toms; and a niece, Jenny Ward.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mindy Coates officiating. Interment will be in Taylorsville United Methodist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville.
