Mary E. "Peengie" Thompson, 68, of Mount Airy, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Glen Burnie.

Born on June 14, 1945, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Warren J. Sr. and Mary R. Caporaletti Hoffmaster. She was the wife of Clinton W. Thompson.

She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church Libertytown where she was very active in the Ladies Club.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Lisa M. Jordan and companion George Hoff, of Mount Airy, Brian E. Jordan and wife Sherry, of Ellicott City, Craig A. Jordan, of Mount Airy, Eric W. Thompson and wife Karen, of Wilmington, N.C., Greg S. Thompson, of Miami, Fla., and Jason E. Thompson, of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren Julie, Steven, Travis, Noah and Emma; and brother Warren J. Hoffmaster Jr. and wife Joanne.

Visitation will be held 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church Libertytown, 9190 Church St., Libertytown, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the St. Peter's Ladies Club.
