Mary Frantz Krebs, 89, of Westminster, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at home.

Born Feb. 9, 1923, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Grover C. and Grace F. Jones Staub. Twice married, she was the wife of William D. Hesson Jr., who died in 1962, and Heindel S. Krebs, who died in 1993.

She was a dairy farmer for 55 years. She was a member of Kriders United Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving are children and spouses William D. Hesson III and Mary Hesson, and Darlene and Dennis Smith, all of Westminster, and Ruth and Dean Starner, of Taneytown; stepchildren and spouses Patricia and John Snowberger, Donald and Noy Krebs, and Mike and Deb Krebs, all of Westminster, Carole Childers, of Taneytown, Ginger and Charles Ireland, of Silver Run, and Debra and Ron Shaulis, of North Carolina; a step-daughter-in-law, Tollie Krebs, of Elkins, W.Va.; six grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was predeceased by a son, James Grover Hesson; a stepson, William Krebs; siblings Marie Grimes, Vernon Staub and Wilmer Staub; and a granddaughter, Emily Watkins.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Schafer, of St. Benjamin's (Kriders) Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Kriders Cemetery.
