Hanover- Mary Grace Michael, 86, peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on December 2, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Ruth Viola Bish and Vernon Amatus Garrett, born on June 11th 1928 in Westminster, MD. Grace attended Westminster High School where she graduated along with her future husband of 60 years the late Arthur William Michael, Jr. Grace was a woman of strong Christian faith. Her Bible was a daily guide and a source of encouragement. She supported world missions traveling through many countries visiting missionaries along with her husband. She was a faithful Sunday school teacher and Bible study leader in Hanover Christian Women's Club. Her home church was Grace Fellowship of York New Salem. Grace was a homemaker but she also worked as a bookkeeper for Fisher's, D H Sharrer, Tam-Agri and AM Concepts. She was an avid reader, student and historian with a great interest in politics. Mom-Mom Gracie was that small convicting voice in the heads of her six grandchildren. Grace is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Henson and husband, Gary, of Hanover, and Melanie Bolte and husband Stephen, of Glen Rock. Her sister, Helen Hargett and husband, Robert, of Florida. Her grandchildren Andrew Henson and wife, Amy, of North Carolina, Joshua Henson and wife, Jennifer, of Georgia, Joseph Henson of Hanover, Sara (Bolte) Staker and husband, Bryan, of Chambersburg, Seth Bolte of Tennessee, and Stephanie Bolte of Glen Rock. Her grandchildren Brayden Staker, Emmalie Staker, Caleb Henson, Ethan Henson, Malachi Henson, Michaela Henson and McKenna Henson. Along with her husband she was predeceased by her daughter Sharon Lee Michael and son Arthur William Michael III. A Viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Shiloh Church Cemetery, Hampstead, MD. A public memorial service will be held 2 PM, Sunday, December 21, at 2:00 at Grace Fellowship Church, 14057 Valleys Road, York, PA. Contributions in Grace's memory may be made to the York Rescue Mission, 367 W Market St, York, PA 17401.
