Mary "Jane" Haines, 90, of Westminster, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at home, after suffering a number of years with dementia and after a short illness.

Born July 6, 1921, in Pleasant Valley, she was the daughter of the late Levi "Lee" and Pauline Myers. She was the wife of Judge Walter T. Haines Jr., who died in February 2001.

She and her husband owned and operated Quality Cleaners in Westminster for 40 years. She was also a nurse's aide for 20 plus years at Carroll County Hospital.

She was a life member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, now St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, in Pleasant Valley. She enjoyed gardening and working in her lawn. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her cats.

She and her husband belonged to several antique car clubs and enjoyed the camaraderie of friends who also enjoyed those activities.

Surviving her are daughters and sons-in-law Sandra Wright and husband Wilbur, and Gail Carlson and husband Les, all of Westminster; a brother, Earl Myers, of Glen Burnie; grandchildren Kati Wright, Jerry Wright and wife Lorena, Jefry Wright, and Gretchen and Harry Fisher, and Jocelyn Carlson; great-grandchildren Nathaniel Wright, Andres and Sebastian Wright, and Carleigh, Elleigh, and Raegan Fisher; brother-in-laws Carroll, Edward, Alton, Delano, and Leonard Haines; many nieces and nephews; friends Dot and Arlin Utz; and caregivers Pat Will, Roberta Noel, Robin Barat, Iris Roop, and Nicki Stephens.

She was predeceased by sisters Effie and Norma Dutterer; and sisters-in-law Phyllis Wilt and Mary Magin.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, 1427 Pleasant Valley Road, Pleasant Valley, with her pastor, the Rev. Dale Krotee officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
