Jane Candela, 80 of Pasadena, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy, MD. She was the wife of the late George A Candela. She was born March 4, 1934, in Eckhart Mines, MD, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Eva Mae (Watson) Hansel. She graduated from Beall High School, Frostburg, MD. She retired from National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD as a secretary. She will be truly missed by her surviving family; Children: Brenda Bell Williams of Eldersburg, MD; Brad Bell & wife Leslie of Walkersville, MD; David Candela & wife Sylvia of Elmhurst, Ill; Donald Candela & wife Nancy of Gramby, MA; Gerald Candela of Catonsville, MD. Three grandchildren: Justin Williams, Megan Bell and Nathan Bell. Four brothers, Raymond Hansel and wife Gerry, John Hansel, Ronald Hansel and wife Peach, Jim Hansel and wife Naomi; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by siblings: Robert Hansel, William Hansel and Thelma Hansel Shewbridge. Jane had a love of the beach, boating, and gardening. She also was an avid walker and enjoyed chatting with her neighbors. She always had a smile, kind word and quick wit for everyone she met. She was an extraordinary mother (in law) and grandmother. A celebration of life service will be held on January 31, 2015 at 1 pm at Calvary United Methodist Church, 403 S. Main St., Mt. Airy, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to: Johns Hopkins Memory Center, 5300 Alpha Commons Dr., Baltimore, MD 21224 or Hospice of Frederick County, 516 Trail Ave., P.O.
