Mary Louise Garver, 83, of New Windsor, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Country Acres in Smallwood.

Born Aug. 24, 1929, in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Hubert J. and Gladys Zepp Null. She was the wife of E. Buckey Garver, her husband of 56 years.

She was an active member of Linwood Brethren Church, where she marked and sewed quilts with the church quilters, sang in the choir and served as a deaconess for many years.

She was a DHIA tester and lab manager for the Carroll-Baltimore County DHIA Association for about 25 years, retiring in 1975. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, animals and volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sister Vesta N. Reifsnider and husband David, of Keymar; brother Dr. George D. Null and wife Estelle, of Oxford, Pa.; sisters-in-law Helen P. Null, of Frederick, and Elizabeth G. Wantz, of Smallwood; a brother-in-law, Paul S. Garver, of New Windsor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Charles E. Null Sr.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor.

Visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Linwood Brethren Church, 575 McKinstrys Mill Road, Linwood, with church pastor, the Rev. Dan Ceary, officiating. Interment will be in Winters Cemetery, near New Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Memorial Fund of Linwood Brethren Church, 575 McKinstrys Mill Road, Union Bridge, MD 21791; or Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
