Mary Lorraine Virginia Merryman ("Larry") Earl, 89, of The Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, died Monday September 29, 2014 at the Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium. Born September 3, 1925 in Knoxville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles Hamilton and Mary Ethel Mentzer Merryman. Twice widowed, she was the wife of the late Thomas Clyde Devore, who died in 1951, and the late Clarence J. Earl, who died in 1998. She was a graduate of Towson State Teachers College and taught in Baltimore County public schools, retiring in 1986. She was very active in her Charlestown community and was a volunteer for its Treasure Sale. Surviving are children, Thomas M. Devore of Finksburg, Jane H. Raley of Lutherville and William J. Earl of Eldersburg; grandchildren, Kimberly Graybill, Michael Raley and Lauren Earl and four great-grandchildren. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Stella Maris Hospice, 2300 Dulaney Valley Road, Timonium, MD 21093. Arrangements are by ELINE FUNERAL HOME, Hampstead.
