Mary Louise Mannering, 83, of Taneytown, Maryland, formerly of Elkton, Maryland, died July 14, 2017, at Lorien Taneytown, after a short illness. She was predeceased by her husband, James E. Mannering, who died in 1989. Born on July 20, 1933 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Carl W. Reamer and Mary Elizabeth Reamer, and the sister of the late Jean Elizabeth Harbold. Mrs. Mannering was a lifetime Methodist, having grown up in the church as a minister's daughter in New Jersey. She was a member of Elkton United Methodist Church in Elkton, Maryland, where she served in the Tele-Care ministry. She was a secretary at the DuPont Company for over 30 years. Her great love of cats was well known to friends and family, and she had a soft spot for dogs also. She is survived by three nephews: John Harbold and his wife Susan Harbold of Westminster, Maryland, Mark Harbold and his wife Virginia Harbold of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and Thomas Harbold of Sykesville, Maryland, two great-nieces and one great-nephew. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE with Rev. Ray Graham officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Elkton United Methodist Church, 219 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
