Mary Moffett King, 81, of Westminster, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.

Born April 6, 1931, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Robert Moffett and Erma Schreiner Bosco. She was the stepdaughter of the late Gene David Bosco. She was the wife of Lewey Keith King, her husband of 59 years.

Upon graduating from high school in Philadelphia, she moved to Westminster where she worked for C&P Telephone, Glenn L. Martin and Westminster City Hall before becoming a homemaker.

She was an active member of the Church of the Open Door where she had been a member of the Super Sixties, the Super Sixty Choir and the church choir. Her mission with the church was sending cards to members who were ill. She was an avid knitter and made blankets for Project Linus, prayer shawls and newborn hats for Carroll Hospital Center. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, cooking, reading and collecting antiques. She was a former member of the Civinette Club and the Gideons.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons and daughter-in-law David K. King, and Michael R. and Barbara A. King, all of Westminster; sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara A. and Thomas M. Eshelman, of Westminster, and Janice and Martin Williamson, of Ohio; a granddaughter, Crystal A. King, of Westminster; great-grandchildren Lily Ann and T.J.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday; and from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, with the Rev. Norris Belcher Jr. officiating, assisted by the Revs. John Campbell and Rick Holbrook. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown.

Arrangements are by Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel in Westminster.
