Mary Notich, 90, of Sykesville, formerly of Gettysburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born September 18, 1924, in Beaverdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Marcar and Eva (Timchak) Plishka. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Notich, whom she was married to for over 62 years and who predeceased her in 2009. She was a salesperson for Montgomery Ward, where she retired from in 1984. She was also very proud that she served as a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII, working on bombers in Detroit, MI. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, in Westminster and enjoyed needlework, crocheting and crafts of all kind. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cindalee Notich of Sykesville; grandsons, Nicholas E. Notich of Seymour, IN and Eric D. Notich of Sykesville; siblings, Madge Jereb of Cleveland, OH, Joseph Plishka of Jacksonville, FL, Steven Plishka of Port Richey, FL and Charles Plishka of Summerhill, PA. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by son, Dennis of Gettysburg, PA and 11 siblings. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 pm in the chapel of Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, MD 21157, where a rosary will be prayed by the ladies of the Sodality. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday at 1:00 pm at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD 21157, with Father Ray Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in her memory, to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
