Mary Patricia Fiore, 95, of Westminster passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. She was born on March 19, 1922 in Greene, Iowa and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Lucy (O'Connell) Hagarty. She was the loving wife of Vincent James Fiore of 42 years, and who predeceased her in 1987. Mary attended Iowa State Teachers College and taught school in Iowa until she married Vincent. After raising her 10 children she went back to work for Random House in the clerical department for 17 years until retiring in 1984. In 1998, Mary was awarded The Archdiocesan Medal of Honor in recognition of her service to St. John's Catholic Church, The Archdiocese, church and community. She routinely helped at the Wednesday Soup Kitchen, served as an extraordinary Eucharistic minister, and was a member of the Ladies Sodality and Wisdom Club. She served as a healthcare minister at Carroll Hospital since 1983 and assisted in many community programs. Surviving her are children Margaret Dudik of Arlington, VA, Patrick Fiore (Connie) of Littleton, CO, Kathleen Adcock (Ken) of Eldersburg, Theresa Fiore of Westminster, Dr. John Fiore (Barbara) of Warwick, NY, Michael Fiore (Lois) of Ellicott City, Vincent Fiore (Tom Fava) of Baltimore, Francis Fiore (Vonnie) of Westminster, Joseph Fiore (Kimberly) of Westminster, and son-in-law Terry Brothers of Finksburg; 23 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Maureen Brothers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster with Father Christopher de Leon as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster MD 21157 or Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster MD 21157.
