Maurice Lee Dix, 78, of Abingdon, MD, passed away on February 6, 2015 in Marriottsville, MD. He was born on July 11, 1936 in Pikesville, MD to the late William Alvin Dix, Sr. and Barbara Helen Stinchcomb Dix. He was a Field Engineer with the MD Department of the Environment and an engineer with Exxon formerly Esso and Standard Oil. He attended Milford Mill High School. He was a Sonarman Second Class in the US Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Henley DD-762. He is survived by daughter Maurleen "Missie" Dix Mack and her husband John W. Mack of Mt. Washington; grandchildren James A., Kathleen M., and John William K. Mack; Uncle of Cheryl Dix Makowski and Benjamin Makowski; former wife Eileen Gooden Dix. Predeceased by son Timothy Edward Dix and brother William A. Dix, Jr. Family will receive friends at the Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136 on Thursday, February 19, 2015 7-9pm. Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 1pm. Interment in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
