May Geraldine "Jerry" Mirfin, 85, of Westminster, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born May 20, 1928, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice I. Hahn Sherfey. She was the former wife of James Mirfin, who died March 25, 2009.

She was a 1947 graduate of New Windsor High School. She had worked as a machine operator for Maryland Cup Company.

She was an avid Orioles fan and enjoyed being with her family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Westminster Moose Lodge 1381.

She was the last member of her immediate family.

Surviving are children and spouses Linda and David Freeman, and Brenda and Wayne Little, all of Westminster, James and Joyce Mirfin, of Manchester, Charles and Michele Mirfin, of Hanover, Pa., and Sandra and Ken Horton, of Finksburg; her companion of 26 years Arthur "Otts" Pittinger, of Harford County; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, chapel entrance, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Wellman, from Sandymount United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice's Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
