Mazie Ann "Susie" (Thompson) Rogers, 73 of Hanover, PA, died at her home on April 19. Born September 12, 1942, in Oakland, MD she was a daughter of the late Marvin V. and Ramona (Anderson) Thompson and wife of Philip A. Rogers living at home. Susie had retired from Hanover VNA in 2008 as a registered nurse. She had also been employed with Hanover Hospital, Carroll County General Hospital, Carroll County Detention Center, Sinai Hospital, Black & Decker of Hampstead, and for the late Dr. Robert Altland, MD. Susie loved reading, country western music, swimming and needlework. She was a member of the Captivate Community Church of Hanover, PA. She is survived by a daughter, Wendie A (Schaeffer) Case and her husband Allan of Glenville, PA, a son, Jeffery L. Schaeffer and his wife Lisa of Glenville, PA, six grandchildren, Bambi Hartlaub and her husband Aaron, Allan Case III and his wife Lindy, Jennifer Schaeffer and her companion Joseph Miller, Colbi Case, Victoria Schaeffer and Dal Case, 4 great grandchildren, Anna, Axel, Declan, and Tripp, a sister, Esther Elaine McLaughlin and her husband John of Millersville, a brother, Thomas Thompson of Finksburg, and her beloved pet cats, Sam, Priscilla and Patches. A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 23, from 10-11 AM at Captivate Community Church, 95 Pumping Station Rd., Hanover, PA. A service will begin at 11 AM with the Reverend Vern Annis officiating. Burial is in New Oakland Cemetery, Sykesville. The J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc. of New Freedom, PA is assisting the family. In Susie's memory, those who wish, may make contributions to either Captivate Community Church, 95 Pumping Station Rd., Hanover, PA 17331, or to Carrollton Church of God, 1901 Carrollton Rd., Finksburg, MD 21048.
