Michael Daniel Schoeffield, 61, of Taneytown, died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House.

Born Sept. 29, 1951, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Daniel F. and Martha Schoeffield. He was the husband of Gabrielle Copeland Schoeffield, whom he married in 2002.

Over the years, he was a salesman for Gould Electric and Roberts Electric Motors, among others. He was a 1969 graduate of Archbishop Curley High School and attended two years of art college. He played in the band, orchestra and was in the Glee Club in high school. He enjoyed playing guitar, was an avid Ravens fan and was treasurer of the Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Quilt Project. He was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Cheyenne Michelle Schoeffield, of Taneytown; several grandchildren, including grandson Cody Phillip Schoeffield, of Westminster; stepchildren Angela Meech, Rebecca Welsh and Robert Wilmot; a sister, Susan Schoeffield, of Baltimore; and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, with Monsignor Martin Feild officiating. Interment will be private.
