Michael Joseph "Mike" Weidner, age 52, of Eldersburg, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Born October 24, 1962, in Baltimore, MD he was the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Lackwitz) Weidner of Eldersburg. He was the husband of Virginia Vann Weidner of Eldersburg, his wife of 24 years. Mike was a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph High School and the University of Baltimore. He was a dedicated employee for Northrup Grumman at BWI for over 18 years. He enjoyed listening to 70's music and the outdoors. Mike was passionate about his hobby, meteorology. He will be remembered as a devoted spouse; a caring and dedicated father and son; and to his friends and family as a kind and patient person who always helped others. Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are sons, Brad and Trey Weidner both of Eldersburg; mother-in-law, Nancy Vann of Winter Park, FL and brothers-in-law, Brian and Steve Vann both of FL. He is also survived by a niece, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike was predeceased by his brother, David Weidner and father-in-law, John Vann. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 PM at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will follow at 7PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a fund for his sons' education; please make checks payable to Virginia Weidner, c/o The Weidner Scholarship Fund, BB&T , 1300 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
