Michael Lloyd Bangs Sr., 58, of Westminster, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, due to injuries sustained in a two-truck accident at Md. 140 and Hughes Shop Road.

Born Nov. 14, 1954, in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Lloyd Osborne Bangs and Charlotte Delphey Ball.

He worked in custom cabinetry since he was 17 years old and was currently employed with Glenn Raver Cabinetry of Hampstead. He was a member of VFW Post No. 8806 of Union Bridge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Surviving are daughter Jennifer Baker and husband Brian, of Union Bridge; sons Tim Bangs, of Union Bridge, and Michael Bangs Jr., of Littlestown, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Stacy Pence, of McSherrystown, Pa.; stepsons Eddie, Brett and Bryan Lookingbill, all of Littlestown, and Tim Lookingbill, of Hanover, Pa.; grandchildren Katelynn, Tanner, Kearstin and Braiden; step-grandchildren Christian, Haley, Jasmine and Bryson; sisters Darlene Patterson, of Maryville, Tenn., and Kimberly Forney, of Littlestown; brothers Wayne O. Bangs, of Baker, La., and Robert L. Tighe, with whom he resided; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie Davis; and brothers Terry and Timmy Tighe.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service, 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, with the Rev. Char Fowler, chaplain with Toop's Troops, officiating.
