Michael Warren Gaskill, 66, of Hanover, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Hanover Hospital in Hanover.

Born May 20, 1947, in Massachusetts, he was the son of Ruth Keough Gaskill and the late Francis Sawyer Gaskill. He was the husband of Linda Irene Burns Gaskill, his wife of 42 years.

He retired from the Social Security Administration where he was a balancing clerk. He was a member of the Volunteer Organization of the Social Security Administration. He served in the Army from 1967 to 1971 and served as a wheeled vehicle mechanic with the 173rd Airborne Brigade during his tour in Vietnam. He volunteered for the Baltimore City Fair. He enjoyed reading, photography, music, woodworking, football and baseball. He enjoyed spending time with family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are sons Charles Edward Brown Jr. and wife Susan, of Westminster, and Jeffrey Scott Brown and significant other Liz Steiger, of Sykesville; brothers Franc Gaskill and wife Robin, and Joseph Gaskill; grandchildren Vinnie Brown, Nick Brown and fiancee Brittney Romberger, and Brooks Brown; and nieces and nephews Bradley, Tad, Heather and Danielle Gaskill.

He was predeceased by siblings Ruth Fowler and Tommy Gaskill; and nieces and nephews Randy, Mary, Robert and Michelle Fowler.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills.
