Midge C. Boteler McBride, 72, of Woodbine, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born April 19, 1941, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Jack E. Brown, and Jean M. Griffith and husband James E. "Pop Pop" Griffith. She was the wife of John B. McBride.

She was a legal assistant and office manager for the law offices of T. Robert Romero in Rockville for more than 30 years. She was known to her grandchildren as "Maw Maw" and enjoyed spending time with her family and dogs, Molly and Dixie. She liked playing cards with friends at the Mount Airy Senior Center and Providence United Methodist Church, where she was lifelong member. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women. She sang with the National Christian Choir for four years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Charles E. "Chuck" Boteler Jr. and wife Jill, of Monrovia, Curt Boteler and wife Melanie, of Frederick, and Melinda C. Herndon and husband Rick, of Monrovia; grandchildren Meghan, Colin, Ashleigh, Ryan and Cody Boteler, Chelsey and husband Sean Ponce, and Joshua, Allison and Shyla Herndon; a great-grandson, Layne Ponce; sisters Becky Baughn, Patricia Beavers, Gail Stockett and Judy Crawford; a great-aunt, Holly Pampillonia; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles E. Boteler Sr., in 1999.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mount Airy.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. DD Adams and Linda Motter officiating. Interment will follow in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Kemptown.
