Mildred A. Markle, 94, of Westminster, died Monday, January 12, 2015, at Sunflower Hill Assisted Living. Born March 1, 1920 in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lydia Hoke Warner and William Warner. She was the wife of the late Glenn B. Markle, who died in 1994. Mrs. Markle was very active in the Westminster community. She and her husband, Glenn Markle, were married and moved to Westminster in 1938. They lived in Westminster their entire married life except for the period in WWII when Mr. Markle served in the Marine Corps. She was a past member of the Carroll Post American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Grace Lutheran Church and avid supporter of the Westminster Municipal Band. She rarely missed a band parade or concert in the park. Mrs. Markle was a music lover, especially when the band was directed by her husband Glenn. For over 20 years she operated a Day Care Center for pre-school children in her home. She was very proud of the individual relationships she developed and nurturing that she provided. Many children later did very well in adulthood and some succeeded to be professionals and doctors. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Lawrence W. and Bonnie Markle of Bel Air and Jay D. and Valerie Markle of Westminster, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Leon and Carolyn Markle of Levittown, PA and Fred and Lois Brandt of Hanover, PA, grandchildren Marjory Beeler, Elle Markle, David Markle and Jessica Markle and great-grandchildren Liam T. and Mason D.
