Milton Russell "Jack" Boone, 77, of Union Bridge, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center, after a brief illness.

Born May 3, 1935, in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Elmer C. and Myrtle Miller Boone. He was the husband of Patsy L. Price Boone, his wife of 33 years.

In earlier years, he assisted Milton Amey in cabinet woodworking and later drove a truck for Mitchell Transport, Schwarmann and retired from Stambaugh's.

He was a member of Amvets of Thurmont and the Blue Ridge Sportsmen Association of Blue Ridge Summit. He enjoyed bluegrass music and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are stepdaughters Patty Stewart and companion Shirley Hernandez, of Vacaville, Calif., Deb Myers and husband Rick, of Westminster, and Sharon Schildt and husband Bobby, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; stepsons John Stewart Jr. and wife Sue, of Union Bridge, and Shawn Stewart and wife Kim, of Taneytown; a daughter; six sons; grandchildren J.M III, Joshua, Tyler and Wesley Stewart, Misti Tresconi, and Chad and Cameron Schildt; three great-granddaughters; sisters Jeanette Whitmore, Betty Boone, Peggy Fritz and Helen Brewer; and brothers Dick and Larry Boone.

He was predeceased by 10 sisters and brothers.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. Private interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Union Bridge.
