Minerva I. Stambaugh Luckenbaugh, 92, of York, Pa., died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Manor Care North in York.

Born Dec. 26, 1920, in North Codorus Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Wilfred Stambaugh and Mellie Smith Stambaugh. She was the wife of Lester E. Luckenbaugh, her husband of more than 72 years.

She was a homemaker and farmer all of her life. She was a lifetime member of St. Peter Lischey's United Church of Christ in Spring Grove, Pa., where she sang on the choir and was a member of the Ladies of Lischey's. She was a former member of the Holstein Breeding Association. She also had a stand for selling crafts and canned goods at Roots Market for many years.

She enjoyed quilting, crafts, baking, canning, knitting and time spent with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son Richard E. Luckenbaugh and wife Barbara, of Westminster; daughter Adrienne Messinger and husband Larry, of Spring Grove; grandchildren Jayson Luckenbaugh and wife Lynne, Barbara Gieselman and husband Mark, Michael Messenger, and Melinda Burnham and husband Brad; great-grandchildren Brian, Justin, Jessica, Bryan, Katelynne and Luke; and nieces and nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by a son, Marvin L. Luckenbaugh; a sister, Ruth Shearer; and a brother, Daniel Stambaugh.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service, 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Lischey's United Church of Christ, 5671 Lischeys's Church Road, Spring Grove, with the Rev. Sarah Rentzel Jones officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Spring Grove.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Peter Lischey's United Church of Christ, 5671 Lischey's Church Road, Spring Grove, PA 17362.
